The Staff Appreciation Picnic is an annual event hosted by Staff Assembly, a council dedicated to supporting and developing activities serving staff at UCI. The picnic is planned and led entirely by volunteer staff who donate their time to make it a memorable experience.
This year, the picnic will be different from picnics of the past. We identified a new location, the Main Fields at the ARC, while Aldrich Park begins an extensive renovation project, and some of our usual activities will be postponed until we are back in Aldrich Park. This year we will focus on good food, good company, and gratitude for the hard work of staff during the past few years.
What to expect this year
- Tables, chairs, and umbrellas will be provided and already set up when staff arrive at the picnic.
- Portable restrooms and sinks will be within a short walking distance from the picnic area.
- No vendor booths, races or water balloon toss.
- This is a zero waste event – we encourage everyone to bring their own reusable plate, utensils and beverage container; water fill-up stations and recyclable plates, utensils and cups will be available.

Parking
Parking in the ARC parking lot and the East Campus Parking Structure (ECPS) will be available for staff picnic attendees. Floors 6 and 7 in addition to the 1st floor of ECPS will be for staff attending the picnic. Only those who do not have an existing permit or those who have a Med Center B permit will need to register their vehicle for ECPS and the Arc Lot. If possible, please coordinate with other staff attendees to carpool to the picnic. Below is pertinent information for the Park By Plate Code:

Shuttle Transportation
From UCI Research Park: Shuttles will begin running at 10:30 am and run approximately every 20 minutes between 100 Theory in UCI Research Park and the ARC at 680 California Ave. The last pick-up time from the ARC for a return to 100 Theory is 3:00 pm.
From UCIMC (200 Manchester Building parking lot): Shuttles will follow these schedules below, but traffic between the locations might increase the travel times:
