Bruce Morgan has served as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Research Administration since 2009. In this role, he is responsible for the overall direction and management of the Research Administration unit in the UCI Office of Research, which includes Sponsored Projects Administration, Research Protections, and Electronic Research Administration. He works with the Research Administration management team to develop strategies and implement initiatives to facilitate the conduct of UCI research and creative activities. From 2005 – 2009, Bruce served as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research and Chief Financial Officer for the Office of Research at UC Riverside. Prior to that, he served as Director of Sponsored Projects at UCI from 1993 – 2005 and Contract and Grant Officer from 1991 – 1993. He also served as Fiscal Officer for the UCLA Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care from 1987 – 1991.
In addition to his campus-based responsibilities, Bruce also represents UCI nationally and globally by serving as UCI’s primary representative to the Council on Governmental Relations, and through his involvement in the National Council of University Research Administrators. He is an globally-recognized advocate for the research administration profession. Bruce also advocates for the profession by serving on the University of Central Florida’s Masters in Research Administration Advisory Board.
